Rover 'Pilot' 12hp bzw. 14 hp Saloon Model

The upper illustration shows the ROVER 'Pilot' 12hp Coachbuilt Saloon of model year 1932, the lower illustration shows the 'Pilot' 14hp Coachbuilt Saloon of model year 1933.

In model year 1932 the body is offered in two types: as Coachbuilt Saloon and as Weymann Saloon. Both body styles are built by ROVER, the latter under license.

The external differences are directly visible:
Modified vehicle front (radiator, bumper, side lights)
Longer hood, narrower fairing of the front bulkhead
Front fender new formed
The 1933 model is equipped with ventilation flaps for the front footwell
At least in the illustration the luggage carrier is omitted
The spare wheel is covered on the 1933 model

All in all, the new body does not seem so stiff anymore. At the presentation on the occasion of the 1932 Motor Show at the 'Olympia' in London, the 1933 'Pilot' Saloon was awarded the FIRST PRIZE in the bodywork competition (Class 4a).

There are clear differences in the dashboards, the steering wheels and the flaps for the windscreen
