ROVER Quintet Australia

Advertisments

1983 - 1985

We currently only have two advertisements for the ROVER Quintet, which were made available to us by Rover friends from Australia.

These are
- a full-page advertisement from The Herald, Melbourne, dated 25 May 1983, presenting the new car with all its merits and
- a small advertisement of unknown origin from 1984, offering an already registered model at a reduced price.

Directly to ⇒ the advertisement from 1984.

1983 ROVER Quintet Advertisment from The Herald, Melbourne, dated May 25th, 1983

The text of the advertisement reads:

New economy size Rover.

The Rover now comes in two sizes. This is terrific news if you like to travel in style but don’t need a big car.
The new economy size Rover Quintet is extraordinarily well built.
It’s made in Japan to Rover specifications and shares all of Rover’s traditional grace and flavour.
Naturally, it flies.
With a 1.6 litre engine that’s big enough for sharp performance, but small enough for economy, using only 6 litres per 100 km.*
It rides with a sureness that only comes with front wheel drive and fully-independent suspension.
It parks with the ease of power steering, and it stops with the ease of power brakes.
If you have kids, there’s more good news.
The new Rover Quintet also has four doors, a deep opening hatch back, and fold down rear seats.
The interior is typical Rover extravagance.
Plush seats and trim.
Electric tinted windows, electric aerial, Pioneer stereo radio/cassette player.
Rear window washer and wiper.
Twin door mirrors with interior adjustment controls.
Interior releases for bonnet, rear hatch and filler cap.
A 16-way warning light display which even lets you know if doors aren’t closed properly, or if a tail light has blown.
Warning chimes which prevent you leaving the car with the lights left on.
A quartz digital clock and about every other thoughtful touch you can imagine.
One or two luxury features, however, are entirely of your choosing.
Whether you’ll have factory integrated air-conditioning.
Or an electrically operated smoked glass sunroof.
Or go for the alternative 5-speed manual transmission.
Only the price is un-Rover like.
The new Rover Quintet is now available from your Jaguar Rover Dealer from around $12,950+.
Which all adds up to a stunning reduction, however you look at it.
