Technical & Equipment Details
The high standard of the Rover body is illustrated by this representation of the interior of the 12hp Saloon. Note the position of the rear seat in front of the rear axle. Both front seats are longitudinally adjustable, and on this model as well as the 14hp and 16hp saloons, the driver's seat is also height-adjustable.
Comfort and refinement: The small tools are housed in a solid, rubber-coated drawer, which is directly accessible without disturbing the passengers.
A further development of great comfort and benefit for all Rover models - the Bijur system of automatic chassis lubrication. Malicious tongues claim that the maintenance of the system is more complex than lubricating the 22 grease nipples.
Hydraulic piston shock absorbers are fitted on all models. The picture shows the shock absorbers on the 10hp and 12hp chassis. It also shows the anti-roll bar for 12hp, 14hp and 16hp front and rear axles.
The "Harmonic Stabiliser" integrated in the bumper keeps the vehicle in a stable position at high speeds and on bad roads, i.e. it reduces the tendency of the front vehicle to twist.
All Rover cars are equipped with a simple jacking system. The picture shows the "Stevenson Jack" as it is installed in the 10hp and 12hp models. The 14hp and 16hp models are equipped with the D.W.S. hydraulic jacking.
The attractive layout of the instrument panel is shown in the figure above. The driver has a clear view of all instruments.
The attractive layout of the instrument panel has remained. The lower middle section has been flattened for easy installation of a car radio.
Operating devices of the clearly arranged dashboard of the post-war 'P2', flattened in the lower part for easy radio installation The unlabelled crank at the top in the middle serves for opening the windscreen for ventilation.
