The Swiss importer advertises ROVER in similarly designed advertisements with different texts and motifs.
The slogans "Rover viewed critically" and "ROVER is not for everyone" are always the same.

WHAT DOES ECONOMIC EFFICIENCY MEAN? In common parlance, a car is called economical when it uses little petrol. The term is also extended to the purchase price, the few tax hp and the low insurance premium. A short-sighted policy! The most economical car is the one that has the longest mechanical life. The long life is again due to a reserve in the horsepower output. A small car needs less "must" - but in the long run it needs something much more expensive: repairs, spare parts, overhauls, pistons, valves, bearings. At 10 hp is probably the most favourable economic limit by Swiss standards. There are sufficient reserves available. Nevertheless, one does not pay taxes for a hp reserve that one can never use. Rover has its 11/76 hp. This makes it economical. On overland journeys it needs about 10 litres, in the city 12 litres per 100 km. The most outstanding feature of this car: the engine built for reliability and long life. The price is slightly higher, Fr. 14950,- incl. air conditioning. There are no additional extras and the extra price is worth it. The well maintained Rover does not know about repairs, its pistons still run without compression loss at 100000 km.

ROVER-OCCASION 1940: A few weeks ago an elderly gentleman came to us to inform himself about the new Rover. Gradually he told us his story: He owned a Rover, a black limousine 1940, which was dear to him as he had driven it over 200000 km without an accident. The only reason he wanted to part with his "state car" was because he had carefully studied the advantages of the new Rover. But - he hadn't been flirting with another brand at all. One thing was certain for him: it had to be a Rover. For his old car he knew of an interested party, a good friend, who offered him Fr. 4000,. Where, so you tell us, can you still get such a second-hand price for a pre-war car! There is more behind a Rover than you might think. It is also significant that a real car connoisseur prefers the Rover. Our pride is not to have to sell this car, but to be able to sell it. And we don't have to make a fuss about a thousand trivialities, because Rover sells itself for its own sake, its excellent qualities, safety, elasticity, performance - simply for the sake of its name. From Fr. 14950,- equipped with all extras, such as air conditioning and defroster, leather upholstery, 11/76 hp, 6 cylinders, consumption per 100 km: Overland 10 l, city 12 l.

1953-09

ROVER IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. Rover driving is a matter of character. There are very specific types of people who own a rover. You should also be aware of this! And you will also find that they are all "construction people" who know a little more than usual about cars, which very often have a long driving experience behind them. If you had to give a definition of a Rover driver, it would be, in a nutshell, like this: It is an unobtrusive, but very purposeful breed of people. They value their car as a modern, practical invention, but place great value on safety and constant functioning. They appreciate comfort, but reject pomposity - or rather, "they certainly don't need it". This car is a distinction for anyone who calls Rover their own. Rover - a car with the characteristics of advanced technology, built on performance, safety and frugality, a car that will not leave you helpless in any situation - is winning the hearts of real connoisseurs more and more despite its unpretentious, shapely and timeless appearance.
From Fr. 14950,- with all extras such as air conditioning and defroster, leather upholstery, 6 cylinders, 11/76 HP, consumption per 100 km: Overland 10 litres, city 12 litres.

1953-10

THE WALLFLOWER. Rover is a wallflower in its own way. You only discover its qualities on closer inspection - but then you are thrilled. Certainly - splendid, flashing heaps of chrome are not Rover's strength. Representation in the sense of prestige is not Rover's thing. But the supposed inconspicuousness also has its advantages. Rover does not survive. He does not have the vintage 1950 and 1953 - he does not have a completely different car with the same brand name every year. Rover is also not built for one year, but for decades. If you do not believe this, or do not want to believe it: Rover achieves the highest second-hand prices and that is certainly a good measure of value. If you don't want to show off your car, Rover is a very reliable, splendidly and tastefully equipped vehicle. A car that not only blends in well with our roads, has high performance and necessary but not excessive reserves, but also a car that fully meets our views on quality and performance. Price incl. all extras from Fr. 14950,-, 11/76 hp, 6 cylinders, leather upholstery, air conditioning and defrostery system.

1953-11

THE SAFETY. Performance and safety must be the same for a trolley. The higher the performance, the more important safety. If you drive a car with 20 hp, you will not "feel" a speed of 100 km/h. But beware: a sudden obstacle, bad road, an abrupt bend! This is where the safety moment comes into its own! It is not only the brakes that have to stop the enormous power of the horsepower. It is also the question of the momentum, the car weight, which should be included in the safety factor. How important are suspension, wheelbase and road holding! This car was built for safety and performance. The face of the car is well balanced, the suspension is cleverly calculated - not too soft - a sporty driving experience is guaranteed. Rover's road and cornering attitude is very much in demand. And the brakes outperform even very frosty cars. Add to this the clever weight distribution on the four wheels, the resulting adhesion and good panoramic view through correctly dimensioned windows. Safety and performance - a harmonious match at Rover. From Fr. 14950,. with air conditioning and defroster, leather upholstery. Six cylinders, 11/76 hp and a consumption of 10 litres for interurban and 12 litres for city driving.
