Flexibel mounted Four-Cylinder, 66,5 mm bore x I00 mm stroke. 1389.28 c.c. R.A.C. - Rating 10.9. Compression ratio 6,25 :1. SU down-draught carburettor. Power output ca. 48 bhp.
Valves
Overhead. Operated by push rods from camshaft in crankcase, driven by Duplex chain from 3-bearing counter-balanced crankshaft.
Cooling System
Water circulation by pump. A fan and automatic thermostat are also fitted.
Lubrication
By pressure from gear type pump forcing oil to all bearings, overhead valve gear and timing chain. Chassis automatically lubricated by Bijur system.

Free Wheel
Controlled from instrument board. Incorporated with gearbox. Locks automatically when reversing.
Transmission
By open propeller shaft to spiral bevel type rear axle.
Brakes
Girling balanced mechanical brakes on all four wheels. Drum diameter 12 in. The hand brake operates independently on rear wheels only.
Suspension
HSemi-elliptic front and rear springs. Hydraulic shock absorberspiston type, front and rear.
Wheels and Tyres
17 in Easyclean Wheels. Tyres "Avon Silent Tred" 17 x 4.75.
Frame
Special deep section underslung chassis with tubular cross-members
