Carpenter, John
John Carpenter is at the time of conception of the "SD1" Marketing Manager at ROVER.
Clark, Roger
Roger Clark is part of the ROVER rally team. He is a co-driver of [ ⇒ Richard Martin-Hurst] on a "P5 3-Litre Mark IIB" at the Acropolis Rallye in 1964.
He wins the 1964 Scottish Rallye on his private Ford Cortina GT (overall win).
He is committed to the 1964 Alpine Rally in the "P6 2000", but is out of the race with rear axle breakage.
In 1965 he and his co-driver [⇒ Jim Porter] achieved the class victory of the Group 1 touring car at the Rally Monte Carlo (sixth place overall). In the same year he achieved 2nd place at the RAC-Rallye.
Roger Clark dies by lightning strike in 1988.
Clegg, Owen
Owen Clegg was born in 1877 in Leeds. He did an apprenticeship at the railway and went to Wolseley in 1905. After Herbert Austin leaves there to found his own car plant, he becomes plant manager at Wolseley.
In September 1910, after a short intermezzo as head of another Vickers subsidiary in Glasgow, he joined ROVER as the successor of [⇒ Edmund W. Lewis]. There he introduced series production in 1911/12 and thus increased the car production from 400 to 1,300
He ensures that the Knight sliding valve motors are removed from the product range. In 1912 he shows a car with 2.3-litre four-cylinder and a performance of 12 hp at the world exhibition for the price of 350 pounds.
In March 1912 he left ROVER and went to Darracq in France. The Darracq "12" and "14" have a great similarity with Cleggs ROVER.
Copelin, Philipp
Philipp Copelin works at General Motors; until 1961 he had run the company Vauxhall in England. After many missteps, he is the right contact for [⇒ Martin-Hurst] because of the V8 engine.
At first he did not believe that ROVER was seriously interested in this discarded engine. It wasn't until Martin-Hurst's second visit that things really get going (1963/64).

Courtis, Ernest

Ernest Courtis is director of research at ROVER in 1905. He takes part in the race on the Isle of Man and finishes 5th.
In 1907 he takes part in the race again and wins the race as overall winner (car No. 22) in the ROVER 16/20 hp with a lead of more than 12 minutes after a race duration of 8 hours, 23 minutes and 27 seconds.
He gets a golden timepiece and a week's special leave for his victory.
Cowan, Andrew
Andrew Cowan is Scottish and belongs to the ROVER-Rallye-Team. He took part in the Acropolis Rally in 1965.
In the same year he participates in the Alpine Rally. With his co-driver [⇒ Brian Coyle] he will be class winner and third in the overall standings of the GT category.
Cox, Toney
Toney Cox is part of the ROVER-Rallye department; he is a master, examiner and remodeler - he is considered to be Hans-Dampf-in-all lanes. He himself is a club race driver.
In 1963, as a private driver in the "P5" next to four works"P5 Mark IIB", he was first in the team standings at the RAC Rally.
In 1964 he is head of the racing department at ROVER. By order of [ ⇒ Martin-Hurst] and [ ⇒ Ralph Nash] (his boss) he installs the V8 engine into the "P6".
Coyle, Brian
Brian Coyle was co-driver of [ ⇒ Andrew Cowan] at the Alpine Rallye in 1965. They become class winner and third in the GT category overall standings.
Craig, Alex (Alec?)
Alex - according to other sources Alec - Craig is one of the ROVER directors around 1924. He is a personal friend of [⇒ Peter Poppe].
From August 1931 until the end of 1932 Craig was chairman of the supervisory board.
At the end of 1932 he left ROVER.
Crompton, Geoff
Geoff Crompton is involved in the styling of the "P6BS" - as was the case with ROVER at that time: besides, outside working hours.
Cuff, Johnny
Johnny Cuff joins the ROVER-Rallye-Team.
1962 he takes part in the title="RAC = Royal Automobile Club">RAC-Rallye (3rd place in the team classification).
